PurpleStride Nashville 2012
Team Pauli's Girls participated in Nashville's first ever PurpleStride 5k on September 15. This was our 3rd race as a group, and we had quite a turnout! Our team raised nearly $6,000, and the event itself raised almost $80,000 for pancreatic cancer research! Friends old and new came out to support the cause.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who donated and/or participated in this year's event. It is a wonderful way for my family to honor my Dad, and we could not do this without your help. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life!

Labor Day Weekend
Mom and Carol came to Nashville for Labor Day weekend, and we had quite the time! Friday night, we had dinner at Bound'ry followed by a trip to my favorite place in Nashville, The Patterson House.
On Saturday, we headed to the Farmer's Market to catch the Big Pink Bus. We had a hilarious tour of the city and the whole group was slapping their knees the entire ride. If you are visiting or living in Music City, you must take the Nash Trash Tour (unless you're uptight or a major prude, the Jugg Sisters have NO filter)!
After the tour, we went to Will's office which is on the 17th floor of the Pinnacle building, so it has great views of the city. After the scenic detour, we had lunch at a new restaurant called The Southern.
After some down time, we headed to F. Scott's in Green Hill's for a delicious dinner. No trip to Nashville is complete without visiting the bars on Broadway, so we had a drink and listened to the bands at Honky Tonk Central. We finished the night scarfing down the most decadent chocolate cake in Nashville, at The Palm.
It was so great to have Mom and Carol in town. Thank you for the good times, and see you very soon at PurpleStride!

ML Comes to Nashville
I was so lucky to have Mary Loyal make the trip from Charleston to come see me this past weekend. ML had never been to Nashville, so I had a detailed itinerary planned for every hour of her visit. On Friday, we headed to Sylvan Park for dinner at Caffe Nonna.
After that, we went downtown so ML could experience Tennessee's Broadway.
We were thrilled when we ran into Anna's sister, Hayes, and her friend Brooke.
We headed to The Stage and met up with more friends. It was a great Friday night, and I think ML really was starting to enjoy Music City.
The next day, we woke up and headed for brunch in East Nashville at Marche. ML is a big foodie, unlike myself, so I was happy she approved. We both cleaned our plates!
It was a beautiful day, so after our stomach's digested, we went walking in Percy Warner Park and lounged around the rest of the afternoon. For dinner, we went to 12th South for dinner at Urban Grub.
On Sunday morning, we waited patiently in line for a meal at Pancake Pantry. Sadly, no Taylor Swift sighting this time :(
The trip ended too soon, but I was so glad to have one of my best buddies come all the way to TN to visit me. Thank you and I miss you already, ML!

Look Out Jackson-town
On August 11, Will and I hopped off a plane and into a car, headed west to Selmer, Tennessee for Mary Lauren and Daniel's wedding. Mary Lauren is a friend of Will's from law school, and I have really, really enjoyed getting to know her and Daniel.
Being a phenomenal singer herself, I was not surprised at the amazing choice in music performed throughout the ceremony. The couple exited the church to a Southern Baptist choir singing "Oh Happy Day!", a song quite fitting for the occasion.
The guests then drove to Jackson for the reception at her father's beautiful home.
Outdoor weddings always scare me, especially in August, in Tennessee! Much to my surprise, however, the weather could not have been more perfect for an outdoor wedding. Even better, I didn't see a single mosquito all night!
After cocktail hour, the bride and groom made their grand entrance and proceeded to the dance floor.
It was a wonderful wedding, and Will and I were so happy to witness the special day.
Congratulations, Mary Lauren and Daniel! Can't wait to spend time with y'all in Nashville!

Wild Dunes 2012
I just returned from my family's annual Wild Dunes trip at Isle of Palms, South Carolina. My grandparents rented 2 homes on the boardwalk to accommodate the 20 family members who were able to make the summer voyage.
This year, I was lucky enough to have Will tag along. We flew in late Tuesday night and had 3 full days to spend on the beach. We played ladder golf, went for runs, and went on bike rides around the resort.
Every night, we all ate dinner together and listened to music at the pavilion. Will golfed with the boys, while I shopped with my Mom in Mt. Pleasant. I even managed to meet up with 3 girlfriends who live in Charleston during my short Lowcountry visit.
If you were watching the PGA Tournament in Kiawah, you would know the weather was stormy at times.
With my family, there is never a dull moment, so we found ways to entertain ourselves. As we waited for the storms to pass, we played Mexican Train, Sevens, and a hilarious game of questions and clues called Headbands. Will was such a good sport!
The vacation ended too soon, and early Saturday morning, Will and I were on our way back to Tennessee. I am so glad I was able take this last trip before summer winds down. It is always so refreshing to spend time with the people who know you best.
