Bruce the Tank

Critter Cavalry is a great organization that rescues animals from overcrowded shelters in Kentucky and Tennessee.  Only 1 in 10 animals are adopted from shelters.  If the animals are not adopted, they are euthanized.  Critter Cavalry has volunteer foster parents who take these helpless pets and give them a temporary home until they are adopted.

On Friday while I was at work, Will went to pick up Bruce, my first foster dog from Critter Cavalry.  He is what I call a chorgador: a Chow, Corgie, Labrador mix.

He looks like a lab on short legs with a black tongue.  We have fondly nicknamed him Bruce the Tank.  He is gentle, low-maintenance, and beyond adorable. We went on a few walks this weekend and literally everyone that saw Bruce stopped us to comment on his cuteness or to take a picture.  Will calls him "our novelty" because he truly is one-of-a-kind.

When someone does adopt him, I will undoubtedly cry as I watch him waddle away.  Until then, I am thoroughly enjoying having this chug-a-lug around.  If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting Bruce or becoming a foster puppy parent, please contact me!

  1. O my gosh, please keep him. I'm so impressed that you're doing this. Now that I'm finished with school, I might have to start being a foster mom, but I would probably end up with 15 dogs. :) Bruce is so freaking cute. I miss you and might need to make a trek to Nashville to see you and this nugget. Love you Conc--ettttt.

  2. Ha I was just about to respond to both of your FB posts but got distracted by the precioussss pup on your wall, Roomie C! I agree, PLEASE keep that little rascal!!! He can lounge with me and Wells by the pool all summer and keep me company while you are at work! Love you both and sorry for being so MIA- Between school, searching for our dream house, and enjoying this amazing weather, I've just been a little busier than usual :) I'm babysitting Friday after school and will be in the car mostly so bring on the phone calls. Concetta, I am so proud of you for fostering!! Makes me so happy! We used to do it all the time and it's the best feeling when you find them a forever home!! Love you!
